Buy cannabis oil

"Medical cannabis" is a broad term for any type of cannabis-based drug that is used to relieve symptoms. Many cannabis-based products are available for purchase online, but their quality and ingredients are not known. They can be illegal and potentially dangerous. Some products that may claim to be medical cannabis, such as "Cannabis oil" or hemp oil, are available to purchase legally from health stores as food supplements. But there is no guarantee that these are of good quality or provide any health benefits.

And some cannabis-based products are available on prescription as medicinal cannabis. These are likely to benefit only a very few patients.

Can I Get a Prescription for Medical Cannabis?

Very few people in England are likely to get prescriptions for medical cannabis.

At present, it is likely to be prescribed only for the following conditions:

Children and adults with rare, severe forms of epilepsy

Adults with vomiting or nausea due to chemotherapy

People with muscle stiffness and cramps due to multiple sclerosis (MS)

This will only be considered if other treatments are not suitable or do not help.

Epidiolex for children and adults with epilepsy

Epidiolex is a highly purified liquid that contains CBD (cannabidiol).

CBD is a chemical found in cannabis that has medicinal benefits.

It won't get you high, because it doesn't contain THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the chemical in cannabis that makes you high.

Epidiolex can be prescribed to patients with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome (both rare forms of epilepsy).

Nabilone for chemotherapy patients

Many people who have chemotherapy have periods when they feel sick or nauseous.

Nabilone may be prescribed by a specialist to help relieve these symptoms, but only if other treatments have not helped or are not suitable.

Nabilone is a drug, taken in capsule form, that has been developed to act similar to THC (the chemical in cannabis that makes you high). You may have heard it described as a "man-made form of cannabis."

M / s. For nabiximols (Sativex)

Nabiximols (Sativex) is a cannabis-based medicine that is sprayed into the mouth.

It is licensed in the UK for people with MS-related muscle spasticity that has not improved with other treatments.

Prolonged pain

There is some evidence that medical cannabis may help with some types of pain, although this evidence is not yet sufficient to recommend it for pain relief.

What about products available for purchase?

Some cannabis-based products (buy cannabis products) are available for purchase over the Internet without a prescription.

It is likely that most of these products – even those labeled “CBD oil” – would be illegal to possess or supply. There is a good chance that they will contain THC, and they may not be safe to use. Health stores sell some type of "pure CBD". However, there is no guarantee that these products will be of good quality.

They contain very small amounts of CBD, so it is not clear what effect they will have.

Is medical cannabis safe?

The risks of using cannabis products containing THC (the chemical that makes you high) are currently unclear. Therefore, clinical trials are required before their use.

"Pure" products that contain only CBD, such as Epidiolex, do not carry these unknown risks associated with THC.

But in reality, most products will contain a certain amount of THC.

The main risks of THC cannabis products are:

Psychosis – there is evidence that regular cannabis use increases the risk of mental illness such as schizophrenia

drug dependence – although scientists believe this risk is probably lower when its use is controlled and monitored by a specialist doctor

In general, the more THC in a product, the greater these risks.

Cannabis purchased illegally from the street, where the quality, ingredients and strength are not known, is the most dangerous form to use.

What are the side effects?

After consuming medicinal cannabis, it is possible to develop any of the following side effects:

  • decreased appetite
  • Diarrhea
  • to feel sick
  • more weakness
  • changes in behavior or mood
  • Dizziness
  • feeling very tired
  • feeling high
  • nightmares
  • suicidal thoughts
